Program Description

Event Details

Welcome to ¡APRENDE CONMIGO!, a three week program taught by Chris-Ann Bennett. One of the most spoken languages in the world, Spanish is a great base language to learn. Participants will learn basic phrases and key expressions and then write a book in Spanish collaboratively with the class using what we have learned during our time together! Everyone will be given a chance to contribute both with the written portions and illustrations and receive a copy as a reminder of the time we spent together.

This is a six session program over over three weeks on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 4:30 pm (Dec. 28, 30, Jan. 4, 11,13 & 18.) in-person in the Brown room.

The Thursday, January 6 session has been rescheduled to Tuesday, January 18.

Registration is required. Participants do not have to attend all six sessions.

About Chris-Ann Bennett: I live in Connecticut and will be a senior in high school. I am so glad that you want to begin this language learning journey for your child. I started this program because I wish I was given the opportunity at an early age to explore a language. I have an immense love for language learning and I want to share this love! Learning and connecting with different people is super fun! Language learning is also very helpful for the real world! Our society is so diverse! We need to be able to communicate with others and not always expect them to learn English.

“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.”

-Nelson Mandela
