Southbury Public Library is closed until further notice.

Thank you for your continued support and patience during this difficult time as we recover from extreme damage caused by the flooding on August 18th & 19th. Information on the library’s reopening will be provided when it is available.

The library’s book drop is closed. For now, hold all returns or return them to any other Connecticut library. Please do not leave returns in front of the library. All Southbury fines will be waived.

If you need assistance with anything related to your library card account, please call 203-262-0626 or email asksbylib@biblio.org.

  • Library-sponsored activities have first priority for meeting room use, and the library reserves the right to deny or cancel a reservation.
  • All applications must be approved by the Head Librarian. Approval status and cancellation notices will be provided as soon as possible.
  • Applications will not be accepted more than two months in advance.
  • Meeting rooms are only available during the library’s regular hours. All meetings and programs must end 30 minutes before the library closes.
  • Meeting rooms are only available to nonprofit groups that are located in or serve the Southbury area. Meetings and programs must be open to the public.
  • Groups are responsible for supervising attendees and upholding the library’s behavior policies.
