This program will also be streamed to our Kingsley Room. Register here if you want to watch it at the library.
Join us on an adventure behind locked doors into the “vault” that stores the Mystic Seaport Museum collections. Within the collection are many unusual and surprising artifacts. We will have a chance to see everything from unusual animal parts and strange furniture, to a curious secret ingredient used in some perfumes.
Krystal Rose has a history and historic preservation background and has worked at cultural sites in Georgia, the Carolinas, and Connecticut. She has been at Mystic Seaport Museum for fifteen years and is currently the Curator of Collections. Before becoming curator, she spent about a decade working as a liaison between the Education and Curatorial departments, bringing the collections to life on the Mystic Seaport for Educators website. She has a particular interest in natural history collections.
Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this event is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. Registration is required. This program is sponsored by the Charles H. and Ella Emery Rutledge Fund. For more information about this program, please email Rebecca at rrandall@biblio.org or call the reference desk at 203-262-0626 ext 130.
