Event Details
The RMS Titanic sailed in 1912. It was a magnificent ship, the largest moveable man made object of its time.
Join John Cilio as he tells us stories from Titanic's construction, preparations for sailing, its crew and passengers. Hear how the courageous crew tried to keep the ship afloat until help arrived. There were several survivors sailing to Connecticut – who were they? Learn about the lone American crew member - he survived.
Was it destiny or bad luck and misfortune that sank the Titanic - you can decide?
John Cilio has been telling the stories of history for over 15 years. As an historian and storyteller, he thrives on researching the ghosts of our past; uncovering the underlying forces and historical trends that one single event rarely impacts. He has numerous articles printed in national magazines and newspapers and has published eight historical books ranging from women working in WWII and their impact on today's business world to vintage helicopters. Nickolai Sikorsky wrote the foreword to his Helicopter Evolution book and it is listed as a Smithsonian reference document. John has hails from a career in IBM corporate marketing and has spoken to large and small audiences in over 60 countries around the world. He lives in Sherman, Connecticut.
