STEAMonday: Candy Cane Playdough Soap & Bubble Bath

Join us for an afternoon of Candy Cane science experiments. This month we're making making candy cane playdough that can also be used as soap or bubble bath.

What you'll need: peppermint scented castile soap (or unscented and add your own peppermint scent), bubble bath (clear or white is best), mint essential oil or scent, corn starch, coconut oil, red food coloring, large mixing bowl, measuring cup, teaspoon, tablespoon, and a flat surface for rolling and shaping (and something to protect your counter like parchment paper.)

Recommended for children ages 7 & up. 

Materials list: 

air tight container to store your playdough soap

large mixing bowl

spoons to stir

1 cup bubble bath

1/2 tsp. coconut oil

corn starch (added one tsp. at a time)

red food coloring

peppermint or mint essential oil or fragrance
