Staying Safe Online Part 1

Join us for the beginning of this series. Part one of this two-part series will focus on the types of threats and scams that exist, what the crooks are after, and some general advice for staying safe.  We will discuss malware, ransomware, phishing, social engineering, tech support scams, and more.  We will also discuss the importance of using good passwords.

Mike Ingber is the owner of Upward Business Systems, which has been in business since 1989 and provides expert, reliable, affordable computer consulting services to a large base of clients.  Clients include town halls, schools, non-profit agencies, small and medium businesses of all sorts, home users, and senior citizens. Mike received an M.S. Degree in Computer Science from Cornell University, and a B.S. Degree in Computer Science and Applied Math from Stony Brook University.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this event is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. Registration is required.
