Program Description

Event Details

We imagine spies to be masters of intrigue and deception, seducers and seductresses of exceptional talent. Many take dangerous risks, complete their missions and live to tell the tale; others don't. Spies belong to a special group of people with flexible identities, elastic morals and what has been referred to by some as situational ethics. They covertly serve their governments, some, multiple governments, and do not hesitate to kill in the service of their countries. Learn more about a few of the special women that served the Allies.

John Cilio has been on the historical storyteller speaker circuit for over 10 years. He has seven published books ranging from historical aviation topics to women’s accomplishments in the WWII workplace. His fifty-plus articles have been published nationally in newspapers and magazines and in private manufacturer magazines.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this event is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. Registration is required. This program is sponsored by the Janet Mann Fund. For more information about this program, please email Rebecca at rrandall@biblio.org or call the reference desk at 203-262-0626 ext 130.
