Program Description

Event Details

Join us for a musical journey through the Appalachian Mountains with songteller Judy Cook.

The folk music you’ll hear throughout the program followed the British immigrants as they made their homes in the Appalachians. They are full of history and humor. Some tell powerful narratives, while others are delightfully nonsensical. There will be time at the end for a question and answer session with the performer.

Judy Cook performs each year throughout the United States and Britain. She is recognized for her depth of understanding and storytelling ability in song, her dedication to the music and her willingness to do her research. Judy has one book and many CDs, including songs from most of her special programs.
