On February 24, 2022, Vladimir Putin commenced the next chapter of the Russo-Ukrainian War. Since 2014 the conflict has been waged, though on a lower level of engagement. The pretenses have been cast aside with the Russian invasion by masses of troops and tanks. The war has settled into stalemates in some areas, as Ukrainians have stubbornly slowed and in some places, have fought the invading Russians to a standstill.

Join us and learn more about the history of this war as well as its position in a larger conflict.  This conflict between the Great Powers is for resources, financial domination and political control.  Ukraine is another conflict in the episodic war for domination by the Great Powers.

Mark Albertson is the historical research editor for the Army Aviation magazine, and the historian for the Army Aviation Association of America. He has taught classes on military history at Norwalk Community College as well as the Lifetime Learners Institute. Albertson has authored several books on military history.
