Join us for a community-wide educational program to learn about eastern coyotes and how to best coexist with them. By detailing the history and ecology of coyotes and offering tools for coexistence, this program empowers community members to feel safe recreating outdoors while sharing the landscape with its natural inhabitants.
This program will designate the town of Southbury as a “Coyote Wise” Community, as part of a continued effort to foster coexistence and understanding of our wild canid neighbors.
Dana Goin is the Wildlife Outreach Specialist at the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem, NY. She holds a degree in Wildlife Conservation, and has worked in various areas around the country studying large and mid-sized carnivores including mountain lions, coyotes, bobcats, and raccoons.
Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this event is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. Registration is required. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library. For more information about this program, please email Rebecca at rrandall@biblio.org or call the reference desk at 203-262-0626 ext 130.
