Join us for an author talk and signing by Kim L. Shipe, author of the book "Fear Not, Angels Are Summoned: How One Woman Overcame Unimaginable Suffering to Live a Life of Joy."

After a traumatic youth, and first marriage Kim L. Shipe had remade her life.  She remarried and lived happily with her husband and children. Until, an elderly driver slammed her into the wall of a Southbury outdoor restaurant.

With shattered legs, Kim believed she was dying. Just then, a heavenly Angel appears and whispers unintelligible words over her body, dissolving all the pain and fear. Over many years, Kim endures dozens of painful surgeries. When she thinks her ordeal might be over, she is diagnosed with breast cancer and must undergo dozens more.

Despite her physical and psychological scars, Kim maintains her faith and strength with the support and compassion of earthly angels--her husband, children, mother, friends, and extended family. With their help and that of the Lord, she learns to heal, builds a successful business, and lives in joy with faith, forgiveness, fun, and lots of therapy.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this event is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. Registration is required. For more information about this program, please email Rebecca at rrandall@biblio.org or call the reference desk at 203-262-0626 ext 2.
