Join us for the inaugural poetry event by Southbury’s first Town Laureate Faith Vicinanza. Faith Vicinanza was chosen by three judges from four candidates to be Southbuury’s First Town Poet Laureate.  The Southbury Library and Sustainable Southbury teamed together to initiate this program with First Selectman Jeff Manville’s blessing

Come hear Ms. Vicinanza’s poetry reading.  Her term is three years and she will be presenting workshops, and poetry readings with other CT poets throughout her term.

Faith Vicinanza is a published poet and visual artist who has resided in Southbury since 2016. Ms. Vicinanza has published  4 books of poetry, with 3 more on the way. She was the host of the longest weekly poetry reading in state history. She also  created and directed a five day National Poetry Championship in Middletown in 1997 and the Connecticut Poetry Festival that same year. She was also a nominee for State Poet Laureate in 2000.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this event is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency.
