Fill out an online library card application, and pick up your library card during certain off-site events! You can use your card for any of our online resources, or at any other public library in Connecticut.
We will email you when your card is ready, with information about when and how to pick it up. This email will also include your library barcode number so you can get started right away with our online resources, including ebooks, audiobooks, films and more. If you're not sure where to start with our online offerings, check out this list of our three favorites!
You will also get an email shortly after filling out the form that we have received your request. If you do not see it, check your spam/junk folder. Because the email is sent automatically when your form is submitted, it may be routed there by mistake. If your email has routed this first email to spam/junk, the next email notifying you that your card is ready may also be routed there.
When you do pick up your card, we will need to verify your Southbury address with a piece of mail, updated license, or anything else with your name and address on it. Once your card is ready, you can pick it up during these select children's events:
- Mondays from 10:30am-11:30am during Monday Morning Drop-In Storytimes at Parks & Recreation, 561 Main Street South
- Thursdays from 10:30am-11:30am during Tunes & Tales at Parks & Recreation, 561 Main Street South
P.S. If you are not a Southbury resident, you can still get a library card from your own hometown library! Reach out to them to find out what they need to make your card. Once we reopen, you can use your hometown library at the Southbury Public Library, too!
