Southbury Public Library is closed until further notice.

Thank you for your continued support and patience during this difficult time as we recover from extreme damage caused by the flooding on August 18th & 19th. Information on the library’s reopening will be provided when it is available.

The library’s book drop is closed. For now, hold all returns or return them to any other Connecticut library. Please do not leave returns in front of the library. All Southbury fines will be waived.

If you need assistance with anything related to your library card account, please call 203-262-0626 or email asksbylib@biblio.org.

Flood Recovery Updates

Greetings! We want to update the public on the status of the Southbury Public Library.

The basement is currently being cleaned out professionally. This is a huge undertaking and requires time and patience in order to mitigate health and safety concerns. The main floors of the library proper are secure and undamaged by flood waters. With the safety of our collection in mind, provisions are in place to moderate temperature and humidity in the building. Once the basement is clear, we can assess all the systems necessary for the building to function properly.

Please rest assured that the library will reopen as soon as possible. We ask for your patience during this time. The staff is eager to get back to regular operations at the library. In the meantime, we are working hard, based out of the Town Hall, to bring you electronic resources and the quality programming you’ve come to expect. For more information, call 203-262-0626 x 1 or visit our website.
