Greetings! We want to update the public on the status of the Southbury Public Library.
The basement is currently being cleaned out professionally. This is a huge undertaking and requires time and patience in order to mitigate health and safety concerns. The main floors of the library proper are secure and undamaged by flood waters. With the safety of our collection in mind, provisions are in place to moderate temperature and humidity in the building. Once the basement is clear, we can assess all the systems necessary for the building to function properly.
Please rest assured that the library will reopen as soon as possible. We ask for your patience during this time. The staff is eager to get back to regular operations at the library.
