Munchies & a Movie: The House with a Clock in its Walls

Each month we offer a special Friday night movie called Munchies & a Movie at 6:00 pm and registration is required. We have snack bags of munchies and bottles of water and show a variety of newly released children’s movies. 

Join us for a thrilling good time. We’re watching the film based on the children’s novel, The House with a Clock in its Walls by John Bellairs. This movie is rated PG and runs 1 hr and 45  min.

All ages*         Registration required

*Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. This film is recommended for older children.

STEM with Anastasia

Kids ages 7-11 are invited to join us for an afternoon of STEM fun. Anastasia M. will be here to teach you all about SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, and MATH – while having fun!

Anastasia is a Lauralton Hall student, Southbury resident, and Girl Scout working towards her Gold Award.

Junior Friends Meeting

The Junior Friends of the Southbury Public Library is our service group of students in grades 4-12. We meet on the first Thursday of every month. We alternate between working volunteer and recreational meetings. If you want to contribute to the SPL community, join us!  Check out our webpage for details.

St. Patrick’s Day Irish Dance Demonstration by the Ashurst Academy of Irish Dance

The Ashurst Academy of Irish Dance will offer an interactive program. Watch the talented professionals demonstrate their moves and learn a few steps. This program is intended for children but all are welcome.
