Fall programs are underway! Our Babies and Books for ages 12-24 months are held on Tuesdays at 10:30 until Dec. 1st. Toddler Time for ages 2 & 3 are held on Wednesdays at 10:30  until Dec. 2nd and  Stories and Crafts for ages 4 & 5 are happening on Thursdays at 10:30 until Dec. 3rd. These sessions have run for six weeks.

Our Drop in Storytime on Mondays at 10:30 and PJ Storytime on Thursdays at 6:00 are held year round and require no registration. We also have  Open House Crafts every Saturday throughout the year. Stop in any Saturday and enjoy putting together a special seasonal craft.

Two special events are scheduled in the Children’s Department during the month of December.

mythThe first is a mythology program given by librarian Mia D’Eletto, It is called “Mythology Investigated.” Its purpose is to learn more about the great myths throughout history. It will explore what questions have been asked that mythology has tried to answer and the through reading and storytelling this will be examined.

The program will be held on Friday, December 4th at 2:00pm. and is intended for grades 6-adults. Registration is required and can be done by calling (203) 262-0626 ext. 3.

book coverThe second program will be an author visit by Pomperaug High School graduates and Region 15 educator Stephanie Robinson and Jessica Haight who will be discussing their new mystery entitled, “The Secret Files of Fairday Morrow”.

They will be discussing how they got the idea for their novel and what it took to get it from inception to print. Books will be available for purchase and registration is required for this event. They will be visiting on Tuesday, December 8th at 6:00pm. All ages are welcome.

tomorrowland-dvd-cover-60We have several movie programs scheduled. Our Lunch Bunch Indoor Picnic and Movie will be on Nov. 19th and Dec 10th at noon and our Movies and Munchies for December will be  “Tomorrowland“ on Friday, December 11 at 6:00



On Friday, November 20th at 6:00, we are so delighted to welcome back the Main Street Ballet of Woodbury, who will be performing an interactive storytime version of the Nutcracker Ballet. It is a wonderful, intergenerational event, and a lovely way to kick off the holiday season! Registration is required as space is limited.


Our booktalk groups will also be meeting. KinderClub for kindergartners will meet on Monday, Dec 21st at 4:15, our Pageturners for grades 1 & 2 meets on Wed, November 18th and December 16th at 4:15pm. and our newest booktalk group, Book Buddies for grades 3-5 will meet on Monday, December 14th at 4:15.  Snacks and Stories for girls in grades 6 and up will be held on Thursday, December 3rd at 4:15.

The Wii Have Fun club is meeting on Tuesday, November 24th and December 15th at 4:15pm. This is intended for grades 1- and registration is required. If you like Legos, then sign up for our Lego to the Library for our next meeting on Friday, Decemeber 18th at 4:15pm.

If school is cancelled or delayed in Region 15 for weather,

our programs for the day are also cancelled.
