Interlibrary Loan

An Interlibrary Loan (ILL) transaction is a request to borrow materials not owned by the Southbury Public Library. This is a free service to all patrons with a valid library card from a Connecticut library.

A library cardholder may request up to five library materials, except DVDs and videos. Requested items must be published one year prior to the request. Materials are on loan for 3 weeks with no renewals. If a material is needed for more than three weeks, another ILL request should be made as soon as possible.

To submit a request stop by the Reference Desk or call 203-262-0626 ext 130.

To our patrons:

Please be aware of significant changes in our state delivery system. The state is looking to cut funding which means our transit system will suffer and as a result we will be having fewer and smaller deliveries. This means that when you request an item it will take longer for it to arrive at our library for pickup. We do everything we can to provide requested materials from around the state but the vast majority of this service falls in the hands of the transit service.  Your patience and understanding are appreciated.

                                                Sincerely,

                                                            The Southbury Library Staff
